OUR INITIAL RESPONSE

On March 13, 2020, we determined it best to cease all in-person gatherings for worship, small groups, and any and all events on our campus. You can read that congregational letter here. We began online worship on March 22, 2020, and services are now available here and on our Facebook page via livestream every Sunday morning at 10:30.

We began a series of small group offerings through ZOOM in early April, and those are continuing on a weekly basis, with new offerings being made available every few weeks. Our goal is to keep the congregation connected with one another.

We have launched a Congregational Care Team, whose mission is to make regular contact with everyone in the church by telephone, email, text, and/or regular mail on a weekly basis.

Currently, the State of Kansas has issued a shelter-in-place directive through May 3, 2020.

Because we consider our first responsibility to act as shepherds of our people and safeguard the health and well-being of the entire community, we are actively complying with this directive.

when will we "reopen"?

We don't believe we've ever "closed." We've just changed the way we gather together, in order to care for our members and friends. We will continue gathering online for the foreseeable future, well past the expiration of shelter-in-place directives, for two reasons:
1.) We wish to safeguard our congregation; and
2.) We are seeing our congregation grow through online activity.

Will we be hosting public worship in the summer? In the fall? We don't know. We do know that, in these challenging times, our church will continue its mission within the community, seeking to foster connections among current congregants and members of the surrounding community who are lonely and seek healthy relationships built around the mission and ministry of Jesus Christ.
